Work Life
Nick has 13 years M&A tax experience. He founded and leads the Tax Advisory team.
Nick trained as a chartered accountant with Touche Ross in London, a natural choice having graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Microbiology! Nick joined Ernst & Young in the Thames Valley in 1996, specialising in providing tax advice to entrepreneurial businesses. Between 1998 and 2000 he was seconded to the firm’s Auckland office.
Nick left Ernst & Young and joined Tenon forming the Corporate Finance Tax team and worked very closely with a number of leading corporate finance boutiques providing tax and structuring advice. He subsequently joined HMT in 2003 to found and lead the Tax Advisory team.
Nick has worked extensively in a range of acquisition and disposal assignments. He has specialised in shareholder and employee incentive arrangements and business valuations. Nick has also written and lectured widely on a range of corporate finance tax topics.
Downtime
Nick lives in rural Wiltshire, is married to Rachel and has 4 children. When dragged away from his country idyll, he is most likely to be found at his local rugby club, or playing tennis, and when time permits, at a gym, seriously contemplating exercise over a relaxing latte!
